Important News for All Exam Candidates
As you may know, as of August 1, 2008, all computer-based examinations offered by the International Code Council will be administered through Pearson VUE. This includes all Contractor and UST/AST examinations.

Why is the Code Council now using Pearson VUE to administer all examinations?
The Code Council has traditionally employed the services of the vendor LaserGrade for Contractor, UST and other examinations, while employing Pearson VUE for Certification and related examinations. After careful research and consideration, we have concluded that all of our clients and candidates would be best served by use of a single vendor, Pearson VUE.
Pearson VUE has proven to be an exemplary vendor to the Council for many years. We are pleased to report that this change is being made to improve services to you and your stakeholders in the coming months and years. By utilizing Pearson VUE as our single vendor, we have the capability of better reporting to clients, a more consistent testing experience for candidates, and strengthening of our partnership with Pearson VUE, in which we will have an active voice representing your interests. In sum, this change will further promote the Code Council’s mission of consistently improving the quality of service to clients, candidates, and the public at large.
I am a Certification exam candidate. Will there be any changes for me?
Certification examinations have historically been offered through Pearson VUE, and there will be no change to the procedure for registering for or taking a Certification examination. Candidates for all programs will see an increase in testing sites over the coming months, to better serve the needs of the candidates.
Where can I now take a Certification, Contractor, or UST/AST exam?
For the most current list of Pearson VUE exam testing sites and availability, please go to www.pearsonvue.com/icc. Information for all three programs is listed on this site.
Will the exam fees be higher?
No. All examination fees will remain the same as previously published.
Will the exams change?
There will be no changes to examination content and length. For the most up-to-date information, please see the Examination Information Bulletin for the exam you wish to take.
