The Commissioner of Tennessee’s Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI), Honorable Leslie Newman, heard testimony July 30, during a Rulemaking Public Hearing, to adopt the International Fire Code (IFC) in Tennessee. The TDCI announced earlier in July emergency rules that allow builders to submit construction plans under either the 2006 IFC or the state’s current fire code.
